Welcome to the New ICR Website!

In an effort to provide better information about the Institute for Consciousness Research and Kundalini, and to engage the public, we just launched our new website! Here are some of the highlights:

The ICR Learning Center

The ICR Learning Center is a comprehensive online resource for those wanting to learn more about Kundalini and consciousness research. This vast subject is divided into different sections, depending on the type of information that would most interest you.

News & Events

The News & Events section will provide our supporters and the general public with the latest in the growing Kundalini and consciousness research movement. You can also find important events and announcements on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

Our 2011 Research Honorarium was awarded to Kavita Byrd for her contribution "Kundalini and the Role of the Feminine in Global Transformation". In her paper Kavita presents a compelling argument for us to honour both the feminine nature in ourselves and women's role on society. As she states, the microcosmos reflects the macrocosmos, there is no question that the imbalance of power between actual men and women in society reflects and reinforces the imbalance between masculine and feminine principles and energies in the collective consciousness.' It is clear that change is required in both our society and social structures around the world if humankind is to prosper. ICR is grateful to Kavita for her submission and pleased to publish this essay as a part of our Honorarium program.

Research Section

ICR is committed to a rigorous approach to Kundalini research. Existing research, as well as our exciting plan for a Kundalini Experimental Project can be found in the research section of the website.

Look for new research articles in this section of the website, which will be announced here on our blog. The Article "Kundalini: The Biological Basis of Religion & Genius: Walt Whitman" is now posted in the research section.

Store

For those who are interested, ICR provides a comprehensive set of books and audio recordings that will help anyone understand the tremendous importance of Kundalini research.

We hope you take the time to explore our website and become familiar with the information on our website. Thank you for visiting, and please stop by often!

I hope the ICR will be successful in its research endeavours, and gain the requisite funds. My own evolving project may be of great interest, and represents the emergence of a revolutionary paradigm which has been commented on by influential persons such as Stanley Krippner, and Elisabet Sahtouris. I was afforded a few exclusive meetings with Pandit Gopi Krishna during the years 1974 to 1981 and a few such meetings been unforgetable moments even after more than 3 decades. I started Library Research Project then which profoundly kept my interest alive into the phenomenon of Kundalini all these 37 years. With renewed interests from a like minded friends who have agreed to provide a helping hand and initially required inputs, I wish to launch the project research with infused enthusiasm in this last phase of my life. When I was meeting Pandit ji I was 26 years and now I am in my 63 years. I would need any fresh updates and research publications of ICR. A certain project to be taken up would comprise of conducting various study pattens on practicing yogies of High caliber. In this regard a preliminary search was launched through theoretical assistance from Patanjali Yoga Institute of Baba Ram Dev Haridwar. Sincere Regards Ashok Sharma galaxicindian@yahoo.com

I am a senior adult woman. I have read your website. I live in St. Paul, MN at present. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for twenty years (1970' & 1980"s). Beginning in the late '70's and through most of the 80's I had a Kundalini Awakening. I was not meditating at the time, although I certainly knew how to. It took a gifted psychic older friend to tell me what I was going through. It was an odyssey for me with many twists and turns but, all things considered, I was lucky. I now understand that I experienced mostly the mystical end of the phenonemon. I had no one to guide me and, well anyway, I eventually turned away from the direct experience, yet phenomenon (mostly pleasing) persisted for years, and still do in a far more subtle way. Nevertheless, at that time, I also had wide mood swings that I attributed to my dysfunctional childhood, and that finally drove me away from meditation. (It's complicated, as it usually is!!) I later returned to meditation but am not consistent. I find myself now, many years later, due to a catalyst in my life, investigating kundalini. I feel like such a fool because it is now widely proliferated throughout the internet (a path that I have largely ignored because I don't care for it), and I might have found you years ago. I am writing this history in this 'comment' space because I do not know how else to contact someone who reliably knows about kundalini. (I know a lot of people surely proclaim to know but one must be prudent ... something I only learned with age!) I have signed up for your newsletter, but I hope to find someone in my city who reliably understands the kundalini process. I have had many years of therapy (in many settings intermittantly over the last 40 years) to heal and integrate my past. Recently, however, when I directly began discussing my deep spiritual nature and kundalini, my therapist just threw up her hands in bewilderment. Therefore, I am also looking for a Transpersonal(?) Therapist, but one who understands kundalini, who might want to work with me. To be clear, I would like to discuss with someone learned on the subject, AND I am looking to integrate more on a therapeutic level. So, I hope you will respond to my comments, at least briefly, and give me some references as to the next step in my quest. You have my permission to share this with someone who might assist me. Thank you for reading this.
